Hello Owls!
Let’s be real, sometimes there just isn’t enough time in the day to sit down at The Commons (that is, if you can find seating after grabbing food). Whether you’re rushing for the next bus, trying to make it to class on time, or needing to sate a craving, KSU’s campus markets are a game-changer.
We’re breaking down what each market has to offer so you know where to go when in a pinch. Nothing worse than heading somewhere and they don’t have what you want!
This week’s blog is all about the different markets on campus where you can grab groceries, quick meals, and essential snacks to make sure your stomach doesn’t growl during your next exam! The best part? All locations accept dining dollars, KCash, and debit/credit, so you don’t need to worry about payment options.
The Market (University Village)
To start things off, for all our incoming freshmen, you’ll find all your basics at The Market. Located right by University Village Apartment 1000 and across from the sky bridge leading to the heart of campus.
The Market at UV has all the essential snacks like chips, soda, and other sweet treats. Not only that, for your convenience, they sell cleaning and school supplies, microwaveable meals, and even hot food that’s ready to go. Personally, the hot-and-ready spaghetti wasn't my favorite. It definitely could've used more flavor, but hey, at least it was cheap! The Market at UV also has all the KSU apparel a student could want, without having to walk all the way to the KSU Bookstore.
Pro Tip: Heads up, freshmen! As the semester winds down, The Market goes crazy trying to clear shelves before summer and move-out day, so stock up for exam season, move-out day, and the drive back home ahead of time!

On the Fly Grab N' Go Meals
Moving on to our next location, right next to The Commons and the slope up to the Burruss Building, the relatively new On the Fly offers easy grab-and-go meals. From sandwiches to wraps to salads, students can easily take their pick. Not to mention the desserts and cool drinks you can find to wash it all down. Take it from us seniors, if this had been around when we were freshmen, we wouldn’t have battled The Commons’ lunch rush so often!

The Market (Carmichael Student Center)
Last but not least, we have our easy convenience store market. Located next to the Talon One Service Center on the lower level of the Carmichael Student Center.
The “Mini” Market is more like a quick gas station run. Grab the snacks, pay, and get out as fast as possible. Here you’ll find a variety of chips, drinks, candy, and some healthier options like meat sticks, granola bars, trail mix, etc., perfect for the 15-minute time crunch between classes or get that very much needed caffeine rush to keep you going. If you’re too far from EatKSU, they also have a smaller stock of sandwiches, wraps, and some ice cream if that’s what you need.

So, whether you missed a meal, need to restock on instant ramen, or want more caffeine before you crash at 3:00 A.M., the campus markets have you covered. Make sure to check The Market hours before that late-night caffeine crash hits! Skip the chaos, shop smart, and remember to keep your snacks hidden in your room!
