The chaos and stress of finals is officially in full swing. The pressure is on and we are here to help you get through to the end still partially sane! Between the late nights and endless caffeine, it’s easy to get lost in the mess. That is why we are here, making sure that you all tackle this final stretch strong. This week we have covered some of our best tips of how to study effectively over on our Instagram. Also be on the lookout for our study crawl around campus to find the best spots to get you were work done.

As a sneak peek into some of our favorite study spots, here are a few…

  • Third Floor of the Library: Great for when you really need to lock in with zero distractions.

Pro tip: Book a study room with a TV if you need to project your screen or use a whiteboard. Make sure to plan ahead because room reservations go fast!

  • The Carmichael Student Center: Grab lunch and study at the same time, perfect to stay close to fuel.

  • Burruss Atrium: In the middle of it all, a great spot if you are studying with a group.

  • The 2nd Floor of Kennesaw Hall: The perfect spot connecting to the education building to relax with some natural lighting.

It's impossible for any of us to do it alone, which is why there's a variety of resources on campus to help you get through this stressful period of the semester. Whether it's studying for a specific course or having another person as a resource to look over your work, campus has variety of options. Check out the SMART Center on campus which offers free tutoring. On their website there are a list of drop-in hours, or you can schedule an appointment to meet in person or virtually. If you are having a hard time reviewing material in topics like business, math, or science, the SMART Center has tutors that can help with it all.

Another option is if you need help with writing those final papers. Don't let something simple like your grammar be the reason that you don't ace your final essays. The Writing Center offers free appointments in person or virtual to help give you feedback. Whether you are in your drafting process or in the finalization page, an assistant will help go over your work and edit to ensure the best quality possible

While all of these resources are great make sure you are also taking care of yourself during this stressful time. Taking breaks in between study isn't a waste of time but a wonderful way to reset your brain to keep you going even longer.

Find something fun to do in your breaks with friends, this could look like going for a walk, grabbing dinner, or even scrolling your socials in between course material. I always opt for caffeine via a coffee or energy drink, but insuring you’re well fueled with enough water and food is crucial. It's inevitable that we all pull an all-nighter at some point but preventing a sugar crash will help you get through all of your classes without letting any get the short end of the stick. So don’t skip meals and stock up snacks to keep you going, healthy options are always best!

If you are finding yourself struggling don't hesitate to reach out for help. Campus Services also have counseling and psychological services that are available to help you manage the pressure final grades. Never feel like you are in this alone because at the end of the day everyone is trying to get through to the summer.

There are also a variety of resources including the Wellnest that have spots for you to relax and take a break.

If you are someone who likes to listen to music while studying, here is my favorite playlist to put on when it’s time to lock in and get some work done! Let us know what you think!

Don’t forget get to breath and take it one step at a time, y’all are going to crush it!
